How Godmothers Came to Be...
Built in 1924, our building originally served
Cape May as a private doctors office and a
pharmacy. As the years passed, it became a trim
shop, a luncheonette, Jullie’s Ice Cream Parlor
and several restaurants including Tony’s
Parkside Restaurant and The Old Ship Inn.
In 1983, Godmother’s was founded and became Cape
May’s first Italian Restaurant. Godmothers has
become a favorite of many Cape May residents as
well as those on vacation.
Godmothers is known for providing
a warm, inviting atmosphere and excellent
service from a staff that is personable and
professional. The simple philosophy of chef
Hubert and our kitchen is to utilize the
freshest local Jersey produce, the abundant
seafood of our shores, combined with the choice
cuts of beef, veal chicken and of course, pasta.
Godmothers menu offers a wide selection of
traditional and untraditional Italian fair, home
baked desserts, pasta and much more.
While dining at Godmothers you’ll be greeted
with warm smiles and friendly faces and 100%
smoke-free environment. And as with many of Cape
May’s fine restaurants, Godmothers welcomes you
to bring your own selection of wine and beer. We
do not have a liquor license. Godmothers does
offer a selection of non-alcoholic drinks and
Italian sodas.
